A hushed, high-ceilinged cavern hidden behind an electronic door in Stadium Dog. A raised platform at the back leads off into a cozy, secluded side room. Fubar is styled as a speakeasy and this feeling is enhanced by the eccentricity of its stock; the Serdar Turkmen vodka features the visage of the late Turkmen president-eccentric Saparmurat Niyazov. Manager Chad Lager, once of Rickshaw and Tun fame, offers 42 Below and Bombay Sapphire as house spirits, reasoning that they are less counterfeited in Beijing. Mixed drinks come in at a very reasonable RMB 30. Fubar is an experience that won’t be secret for long. Happy hour everyday from 3pm-9pm.
